Elise Chaperon

Élise Chaperon (since 2012)

I am a doctoral student in psychology, scientific-professional profile. Holder of a bachelor's degree in psychology, I wrote a specialization thesis on the quality of aggressive children's social integration with prosocial peers in intervention groups. I am also very curious and interested about couple's psychology; this is reflected in my research as well as my clinical studies. While I was a research assistant at the Laboratoire d'Étude sur le Développement Social des Enfants et des Adolescents, I lead an important literary review on the development of love affairs at early adulthood (emergence, stability, types of patterns). My doctoral research subject will focus on the link between the attentional processes, the specific relational scheme towards the partner and the quality of the conjugal relationships. I will attempt to verify if the modification of the attentional bias towards rejection in insecure individuals creates a positive impact on their on their conjugal relation. To help me pursue my research, I receive financial support from the FQRSC through 2 research grants, one for the master's program and the other for the doctorate program.

Catherine Bergeron

Catherine Bergeron (since 2013)

I have completed my bachelor's degree in psychology and psychoeducation at the Université de Montréal in 2009. I confirmed and refined my interest in psychology during my studies while I was working as a research assistant in the Laboratoire de recherche sur le soi et l'identité at UQÀM.

I am currently a doctoral student working at the Laboratoire de recherché sur les cognitions sociales. My research covers the effectiveness of different strategies of emotional regulation in stressful situations. More specifically, I'm interested in the processes of full consciousness and of the implicit cognitive re-evaluation as well as their effects on the well-being of individuals who have a natural tendency to mull over in stressful situations.
I wish to pursue my carrier as a clinical psychologist while maintaining an active presence in the research field.
